Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (Harmony) is one of the world’s largest gold mining companies, producing 1.46 million ounces of gold in FY09 (FY08:1.6 million ounces). At year-end (30 June 2009), the company employed 45 685 people, largely in South Africa, of whom 38 295 were full-time employees and 7 390 contractors (FY08:48 676 people, including contractors).
